• arrived Vienna in 1787.
• met Mozart a few times
• rushed back to Bonn because his mother was dying
• borrowed money from Councillor von Schaden to complete his trip
• did not have money to Schaden
• Since 1784, Beethoven had been Closer to Breunings, a noble Bonn family, and tutored tow of Frau von Breuning's children.
• Beethoven may had proposed marriage to Eleonore, however, was refused.
• In 1789, he was taken to the monastery at Aschaffenburg, to meet one of the greatest and most famous pianists, Abbe Sterkel.
• In 1792, left Bonn for Vienna once again, for studying with Joseph Haydn.
